11:45 pm: The move
I have moved to Rohnert Park.

Some of you know this, some do not. This post is mainly for those who still read LJ and I suck at keeping in contact with a lot of people.

So there you have it. My commute is 100 times longer, but I am saving $500 dollars a month, now that gas prices are so low. :)

The place is smaller with almost NO closet space. So I was forced to get a storage unit. But it's a nicer apartment, with a pool, spa, and fitness center. It's got an awesome grassy field with BBQ pits too, so come summer I will be having all kinds of random get togethers, because I can!!!

I am already having a blast being so close to those who live around here. Random people knock on my door to visit. Spontaneous trips to the hot tub are awesome with friends who live in the complex. ( we did that tonight) Being able to have Thanksgiving at our house for those who either didn't have family near by or who wanted an excuse to not see their family was an amazing experience. Having people crash over at *our* house, for once, makes me feel kharmically balanced for all those times I crashed somewhere in Sonoma County.

Most of our stuff is unpacked or in storage, there is just the last bits of organizing to do and we will be all set.

Overall I am very glad we did this. I know Mike is much happier, and as soon as I get used to the commute I will be right as rain myself. The fact that my commute is the *only* con I can think of to this move, compared to the many pros on the other side of the list... this is good... very very good.

09:31 am: Why am I not at work?
I should be at work today.

I'm not, and I feel like writing about the reasons why. It might not be what you expect, if you haven't talked to me in a while.

( Beware, venting ahead. )

When I started this I thought there was more...now I'm here and I can't think of anything, besides I've got chores to do.

11:52 am: Moved, touched, honored and inspired
I wish I was a writer. I wish I had the talent to convey all the emotion of my experience this weekend. Knowing that I may not succeed in the way that others could, doesn't stop me from writing about what happened. I will do my best to write in a way that will at least make sense.

Today is my anniversary. Go us. We took a hike up to the site where our ceremony happened and had a picnic lunch. It was nice. Good exercise, good company and good memories. And hehe, I got paid to do it. Cuz I'm on vacation until the 15th of July.

Ah... I'm gonna take a nap, just because I can.

07:37 pm: Much needed speedy update
I could say I will go into more detail later on the following subjects, but everyone knows I won't.

1. Job good, Peniswrinkle still up to his tricks, but I'm still learning how to deal with him and I am improving... VERY slowly, but there is improvement none the less.

2. Grendel French, my Mantis, died last week. I noticed she wasn't eating for a while and sure enough Mike noticed her sitting on the log in an unnatural position. Ah well, a few months of life wasn't too bad. Fun while it lasted.

3. Started an VtM larp called Shadows Crossing. I'm an ST again. It has been so long since I've been an ST it's a strange feeling picking up those responsibilities of a game. Repeat: Responsibilities of a game. Oxymoron.

4. Been in a social butterfly mode for a few months now. Going to just about every party I am invited to. I'm driving Mike a bit bugg-nutty. We've been trying to take a weekend to ourselves since November and there is always something that needs to happen in the LH game, or a party, or both, or... whatever, it's always *something* that we need/want to do to make 'alone' time impossible. I don't mind because I get alone time with Mike just about every evening. My weekends should be time available for my friends if they want/need it. It's not my fault my friends like my company. I am also used to uber schedules of doom, where every spare minute is allocated between everything and everybody who wants some of my time. I'm used to sacrificing some husband time for something else. Mike is not. Not to worry. This weekend is important to him so eventually I will sacrifice friend time for husband time. I have a feeling it will be soon. Even I burn out eventually.

5. Last week(end) being a prime example:
Thursday: pick up StarCraft Board Game (SCBG), go to Shannon's, come home chat with B about SCBG until 1 am.

Friday: After work, Go to B's house to play SCBG, take 2 1/2 hours just to go over the rules. Stay there till 3 am.

Saturday: Get up at 8 am, go to work, drive to SR for Shadows Crossing, stay up till 4 am.

Sunday: Wake up at 9am to go back to B's for another round of SCBG, (He was more than a little excited with how fun that game is.) Go to LH game. Stay out until 4am.

Monday: Sleep all day, would have died if I hadn't. Go to Death Guild with friends, stay out till 4am.

Tuesday/Wednesday: normal

Thursday: Go to Glas Kat for a Private Party and stay up until, you guessed it, 4am.

Don't get me wrong I had a blast. Some of the best games and parties I've been to in a long time. But damn. I needs my sleep. And don't even get me started on how hopped up I was on caffeine Sunday morning. I drank coffee, ladies and gentlemen, and too much of it. I will never *ever* EVER do that again. As much fun as I had, next time I will resort to falling asleep on the couch and *not* stay up talking.

Last night being the most recent event ended up being the best. It didn't start that way, I thought it was gonna be kinda suck, but by the time Brandon and Sirena got there and convinced me to try harder to have fun, I did. Lots and lots of fun. Part of me wants to go into more detail. But I've got IC writing to do and I will go to bed early... yes, I *will* get sleep tonight, or it just may be the last thing I do.

I think there is more, but since my brain doesn't always remember everything it means to do, I'll just leave it at that.

This also means I have been a custom Picture Framer for 10 years. I can start writing articles for Framer magazines and such. (As if I ever will, I'm just saying... most of those writers have *less* experience.)

11:44 pm: Update
Vacation over. Back to work, and it's as if I never left. Except that I am much more relaxed. at least I get to go to Las Vegas next weekend.

Last weekend was so full of stuff that I really only have enough time to skim over the highlights.

Sat morning/afternoon. Shopping in SF'd Japan town with shannybug and linkyblank and Matt. Had lots of fun, found a panda I've always wanted. *squish* And a prop for the L5R game, of course.

Sat night: Party at Poet's. Got to have some interesting conversations in the middle of all the normal craziness. They convinced me to wear the most awful yet fun 80's outfit. I should have taken a picture. I suppose I'll just have to dress up like that again someday.

Sunday: Sushi at Noel's, L5R meeting and then OOC meeting for LH. I got very little rest. But I felt very accomplished.

Monday: A few chores and nothing but Heroes on DVD. It was given to me last week and we haven't stopped watching episodes since. We finished the first season tonight. Great story, wonderful characters. Can't wait to get the second season when it comes out. Yes I know I can watch it online, but I'd rather buy it and miss all those commercials. And I'm not a pirate. ;)

So... that's my week.

Tomorrow I've got to remember to buy some more crickets for Grendel French. She's a big eater.

06:14 pm: First day of the Snow Trip and LARPS
Yes, I am insane. I planned to go snowboarding for a while now.

And the weather likes to laugh at me. Projected "worse storms in years" happening in a few days. *sigh* Well, we will see. I'm at the condo/cabin right now, the trip up here was pretty uneventful. The storm really isn't here yet. Apparently it starting in the Bay Area and *then* comming up here.

We went to Safeway to get food supplies, as was everyone else in the area, probably making sure they had enough food in case everyone is snowed in. Yup... I could be snowed in, which in my opionin would be kinda cool. I've got nowhere I need to go, I could hang out in Tahoe for a few more days than planned, it would be kinda fun. We've got plenty of movies and board games, and $200 worth of food. And worse comes to worse we've already decided to eat Nick first.

Hopefully the storms won't be too bad, and give us at least one good day to go up and go snowboarding as planned.

Obviously we have internet access so I will keep everyone posted.

In other news, I have had actual requests for more LARP posts, which I am surprised by, and who am I to argue? Now the question becomes, do I make a new LJ account for my character(s) or do I make specail filters? I would make a poll but I don't have a paid account so you'll just have to comment to give me your opinion.
